Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the FieldKit mobile application ("the App") developed and operated by Quentin Dommerc ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms.
1. Overview
FieldKit is a tool inventory application that lets you catalog tools and equipment with photos, locations, categories, serial numbers, receipts, warranties, and lending records. The App stores all of your data locally on your device and does not upload your inventory to any server.
2. License
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal or business inventory purposes in accordance with these Terms. You may not:
- Copy, modify, or distribute the App or its content
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose
- Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels
3. Free and Pro Tiers
FieldKit offers a free tier and a paid "Pro" tier:
- Free: Includes up to 5 tools, fast add and bulk add, locations and categories, the lending tracker, receipts/serials/warranties, and CSV export.
- Pro: Unlocks unlimited tools and PDF inventory reports. Pro is available as a one-time lifetime purchase or an annual subscription.
The lifetime purchase does not expire. The annual plan renews yearly until cancelled, in accordance with the App Store's subscription terms.
4. Purchases and Refunds
All purchases are processed through the Apple App Store. Payment terms, refund policies, and billing are governed by Apple's terms:
To request a refund, please contact Apple directly. We do not process payments or refunds ourselves.
5. Your Content
You retain full ownership of the data and photos you store in the App. We do not claim any rights over your content, and we never access it. You are solely responsible for the accuracy of your inventory and for keeping your own backups via export.
6. Privacy
Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle (or rather, don't handle) your data.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.
FieldKit is an organizational tool. It is not a substitute for professional insurance, appraisal, or legal advice. Inventory reports and estimated values are generated solely from the information you enter, and you are responsible for reviewing their accuracy before relying on or sharing them.
8. Data Loss
Because your inventory is stored locally and we operate no backend, we cannot recover your data if your device is lost, damaged, reset, or if the App is deleted. You are responsible for exporting backups of important inventory data.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Quentin Dommerc shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, use, or profits arising out of or in connection with your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim related to the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App (if any).
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of France, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction in France.
